The New Britain Rock Cats, the Class AA affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, held a promotion on Monday night called “Christmas in July.” Since you can’t possibly have Christmas without Santa Claus, the team threw on some fantastic Santa uniforms for a game against the Portland Sea Dawgs.
Nothing intimidates a hitter quite like facing a pitcher with a white beard drawn on his jersey and a big gold belt buckle near his waist.

Fine, these things are awful. If you want to run a solid promotion that involves uniforms, you have to go tuxedo jersey like this AHL team did to celebrate the New Year. Unfortunately, the Rock Cats lost two games of a double-header. The Santa suits just didn’t give them the confidence they needed
