Report: 49ers give Jimmy Garoppolo richest deal in NFL history
The San Francisco 49ers are locking down quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, and they’re giving him big money.
According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the 49ers and Garoppolo have agreed to a five-year deal worth $137.5 million. In terms of average annual value, this is the richest contract in NFL history.

We heard a while ago that good progress was being made between the two sides, and things have clearly come to fruition.
The 49ers were clearly convinced by what he showed them down the stretch. He threw seven touchdowns and five interceptions, but won all five of his starts after being acquired from the New England Patriots. San Francisco is investing in a franchise quarterback for years to come, and time will tell if he can live up to that.
