The Alliance of American Football essentially pulled the rug out from under all of its players earlier this week by suspending play for the remainder of the season, but they are at least now free to pursue other job opportunities.
On Thursday, the AAF announced that players have been authorized to sign with NFL teams.
Effective immediately, all AAF players are authorized to sign with NFL Clubs.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported on Thursday morning that AAF contracts had not technically been breached, meaning the NFL had to instruct all teams that contacting AAF players would constitute a violation of league rules. Fortunately, that issue has been remedied.
The way the AAF ceased operations is pretty shocking, and the league’s founders are likely to face lawsuits because of it. There probably aren’t many players who played in the AAF that will be heavily pursued by NFL teams, but at least the option is now open.
