Few players took advantage of their opportunity to shine in the AAF more than Rashad Ross, and now he’s getting another NFL shot as a result.
Ross is signing with the Carolina Panthers, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Thursday.
Ross led the AAF with 7 touchdown catches in 8 games with the Arizona Hotshots. His 583 yards were second to Charles Johnson, while his 16.2 yards per catch average was among the best in the league.
Ross went undrafted out of Arizona State and spent time on the practice squad for multiple NFL teams from 2013-2018. He saw brief action in two games with the Bears in 2014, and then enjoyed more of a role with the Washington Redskins in 2015 and 2016. Ross had one receiving touchdown and a kickoff return for a touchdown during the 2015 season. He’ll now have a chance to compete for playing time with the other receivers on Carolina’s depth chart.
