Aaron Rodgers reveals whether he will play in 2025
Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets have not had the season they wanted to have in 2024. From Rodgers’ standpoint, however, his stance on his future has not changed.
The veteran quarterback asserted Wednesday that he fully intends to play in 2025, even though he turns 41 in December. Rodgers said that the team’s struggles have not changed that stance in a negative sense.
“Not really. Not for the negative, no,” Rodgers told reporters when asked if the team’s poor season changed his stance on returning for another year.

In the past, Rodgers has been adamant that he thinks he has several more years in him. Health does not appear to be a concern for him, as he has not missed any time in 2024 and has actually looked a bit more mobile in recent weeks. The stats still are not where they were during his peak, but he has thrown for 2,258 yards with 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
For Rodgers, the biggest question might be whether the Jets want him back. With the team now 3-7, it is fair to say they have not gotten their money’s worth. It was reported before the season that a bad campaign might force the Jets’ hand and cause them to move on, which would be an expensive proposition with a looming $49 million dead cap figure for next season. As bad as that number is, the Jets might have no choice but to just start over and force Rodgers to find a new team.
