Report: Alex Smith out of hospital, will be able to continue playing career
Alex Smith has finally been released from the hospital and has a positive prognosis about his playing career, according to a report.
Smith suffered a gruesome broken leg on a sack during a loss to the Houston Texans last month. It was revealed that he had a spiral fracture, meaning he had a lengthy rehab ahead.
But that wasn’t all.
Smith dealt with infections in his leg that complicated his recovery and lengthened his hospital stay. There was even talk that the injury could threaten his career.
Despite all that, ESPN’s Adam Schefter and John Keim reported on Saturday that Smith has been released from the hospital. They say there is even optimism that he will be able to continue his playing career.
Washington better hope Smith can resume his career. He has a cap hit of over $20 million for each of the next two seasons.
