You know how grade school teachers will often have trouble-makers sit on opposite sides of the classroom to avoid a potential problem? Apparently the Green Bay Packers have decided to do something like that with Eddie Lacy and another running back.
Coming off his two best games of the season, Lacy hardly saw any playing time against the Detroit Lions Thursday night. It later came out that head coach Mike McCarthy was disciplining Lacy for missing curfew the night before the game. Fellow running back Alonzo Harris also missed curfew, and he was released by the team.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Packers were considering signing Harris to their practice squad after cutting him but were afraid of “outside influences” on Lacy.

#Packers were gonna sign RB Alonzo Harris to the practice squad, but now won't. They don't want any outside influences on buddy Eddie Lacy

Safe to say, #Packers have concerns about RB Eddie Lacy. On the field, he's dynamic. Off the field, they need better attention & commitment

This has not been a banner year for Lacy, to say the least. The former Alabama star was dominant down the stretch last season, but injuries and an apparent lack of focus have derailed his 2015 campaign.
You can tell from the comments McCarthy made after Thursday’s game that Lacy is in the doghouse. But if the Packers chose not to bring back a player because that player might have a negative influence on Lacy’s behavior, that is not a good sign.
