Amon-Ra St. Brown is not messing around this season.
St. Brown spoke with the media on Thursday from Allen Park, Mich., where the Detroit Lions were holding their organized team activities (OTAs). St. Brown told reporters that he has not practiced because he is recovering from a knee surgery he underwent after the season.
“I had a surgery on my knee after the season just to clean some stuff up, so I’ve been rehabbing that, but I should be good to go for training camp,” St. Brown said.
St. Brown also made clear that his Lions are holding as high of a standard as possible. He was blunt in stating the team’s goals.
“For us, it’s Super Bowl or nothing,” St. Brown said.
That’s certainly aiming high. And why not? The Lions went 15-2 in the regular season last year, but they were upset by the Washington Commanders in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. The year before that, they reached the conference championship game before losing to the 49ers.
The next step for the Lions is to reach the Super Bowl. And for St. Brown, he wants to do even better than that and win it all.
St. Brown has made three straight Pro Bowls. The 25-year-old has had three straight seasons with at least 100 catches and 1,000 yards. He had 115 catches for 1,263 yards and 12 touchdowns last season.
