Anquan Boldin, Lions reach agreement on one-year deal
The Detroit Lions offense officially has a new safety net.
According to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN on Tuesday, the Lions are finalizing a one-year deal with veteran wide receiver Anquan Boldin.
Former 49ers, Ravens and Cardinals' WR Anquan Boldin plans to sign a 1-year deal with Lions, per sources. Two sides now finalizing deal.

The 36-year-old Boldin had visited with the Lions last month and apparently chose to sign with them despite a strong overture recently from the New Orleans Saints.
Boldin managed to log 789 receiving yards and four touchdowns in a rather anemic San Francisco 49ers offense last season. The three-time Pro Bowler’s arrival in Detroit gives the team a reliable pair of hands to help offset the loss of Calvin Johnson to retirement, and he can safely be penciled in for WR3/4 duties behind the likes of Golden Tate and Marvin Jones for 2016.
