Confidence Check: Antrel Rolle Says Giants ‘Can’t Be Beat’

After beating a team that went 15-1 during the regular season and was the far and away favorite to repeat as Super Bowl champions, the Giants should be feeling extremely confident.  In fact, any team in a conference championship game should feel that way.  Regardless of how they got there, the Giants, Niners, Patriots, and Ravens are all still playing for a reason.  In Antrel Rolle’s mind, however, the other three teams should start shining their golf clubs now.

“We wouldn’t say we’re unstoppable, but our mindset is extreme at this point. We’re not going to be denied. … I might be a little biased, but in our minds, we can’t be beat,” Rolle said on Monday according to the NY Daily News. “We’re extremely confident and we’ve given ourselves the reasons to feel that way. We have to continue to give ourselves those reasons, and we will. We have no doubts. It’s right there at the tip of our tongues.

“It don’t matter who we play. You can put an All-Star team in front of us, and we’re going to go out there and compete. We don’t fold. No matter what happens, if there’s a bad call, or things aren’t going our way, we’re not going to break. We’re not going to lose focus on what’s at stake and our ultimate goal.

Tip of their tongues? Can we get someone to check on that phrase?  Aside from that, Rolle’s comments are fine with me — which is rare since he usually spends his time crying about television announcers and calling out teammates.  Rolle said the Giants can’t be beat in their own minds.  People will undoubtedly blast him and accuse him of making an unnecessary guarantee, but is there any other mentality to have at this point?
