Aqib Talib apologizes to teammate he shoved over muffed punt
Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib let his emotions get the best of him when he shoved a teammate during Sunday night’s win over the Kansas City Chiefs, and the veteran has since apologized.
Wide receiver Jordan Norwood muffed a punt early in the fourth quarter that could have cost the Broncos the game, as they were leading 16-10 at the time and gave the Chiefs the ball near midfield. Talib was extremely frustrated by the error, and he gave Norwood a hard shove in the back after the play.

Shoving a teammate like that for a physical error seems uncalled for, which is apparently something Talib later realized. Norwood told reporters on Monday that Talib had apologized.
“Me and Aqib sat down one-on-one and talked a little bit and made sure we’re on the same page,” Norwood said, per Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post. “There were a lot of emotions. It was a long football game. A lot of good plays, a lot of bad plays by us. There’s just a lot of emotion behind it. But you love your teammate like I love my big brother and I’m going to make sure he’s right.”
Talib confirmed that he apologized to Norwood and said he showed so much emotion because “I love football” and “that’s how I play.”
The Chiefs didn’t score on the possession, and we all know what happened later in the game. Had Talib’s shove not been caught on camera, it probably would have been a very minor incident among teammates.
