Bill Belichick has a new book coming out, and many have been wondering what the legendary coach would have to say about his former boss. The answer is absolutely nothing.
Belichick’s book, “The Art of Winning,” goes on sale May 6. Longtime Boston Globe reporter Dan Shaughnessy was sent a copy in advance of the public release, and he made one notable observation about the book — there is no mention at all of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
That is not exactly a shock. The relationship between Belichick and Kraft has not been in a good place for quite some time. The two projected an image of civility when Belichick was essentially fired by the Patriots following the 2023 season, but it is no secret that Belichick and Kraft have little interest in sitting at the same dinner table.

Many fans were hoping that Belichick would use the book to issue a response to the way he was portrayed in the AppleTV+ docuseries “The Dynasty,” which was released last year. Belichick, who won six Super Bowls with the Patriots, was painted in a negative light in the documentary. Kraft has denied having any editorial input or control, but each episode ended with a message that said “Copyright Kraft Dynasty LLC.”
Shaughnessy noted that Belichick’s book contains an “Acknowledgments” section in which 363 people are thanked. One of them is Malcolm Butler, who was infamously benched by Belichick when the Patriots lost 41-33 to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII. Kraft’s name is not listed, however.
Belichick and Kraft took part in a toast together at the Netflix roast of Tom Brady last year, but it sounds like they were just playing nice for the cameras. Reports indicated that there was an obvious tension between the two during the event.
Belichick and Brady also butted heads during the end of their time together in New England, but they have since patched things up. Kraft and Belichick may do the same eventually, but Kraft is 83 and Belichick is 72. They may not want to wait all that long.
