Bill Callahan: Dwayne Haskins still not a candidate to start for Redskins
A new coach will not change Dwayne Haskins’ current status with the Washington Redskins.
Speaking to the media for the first time as the Redskins’ interim coach, Bill Callahan said that Haskins is not a candidate to start for the team going forward, with Case Keenum and Colt McCoy competing for the job.
#Redskins interim coach Bill Callahan declines to name a starting QB. Says they’re checking the medical on Case Keenum and Colt McCoy but Dwayne Haskins is NOT a candidate to start right now.

Haskins got a brief cameo against the New York Giants, where he threw three interceptions in 17 pass attempts. That was a signal that he’s not ready yet. The explanation might be a bit different than the one Jay Gruden gave, but the principle is the same: Haskins isn’t capable of playing winning football consistently yet. They want him to sit and learn, and it’s probably going to stay that way throughout 2019.
