Bills had hardcore gameplan for shutting down JJ Watt
J.J. Watt was held in check by the opposition on Sunday for the first time in nearly two months. That was not an accident.
Watt did not record a sack or a quarterback hit in a 30-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He finished with just four total tackles. After the game, Bills offensive lineman Richie Incognito spoke about how much the team prepared during the week for facing Watt.
Bills G Richie Incognito on containing JJ Watt: "This is probably the most in-depth gameplan I've ever seen (to deal with) one player."

That says a lot coming from someone who has played 11 NFL seasons. And Incognito wasn’t the only one who noticed. Bills center Eric Wood, who has been with Buffalo for seven years, said that was the most attention he has ever seen the team give to one player.
Watt had a total of 9.5 sacks in the five games prior to Sunday. Rex Ryan obviously took note. When you hear the praise that some fellow NFL players have showered on Watt, you know he isn’t just “another guy.” The Bills benefitted from treating him accordingly.
