Buffalo Bills rookie cornerback Maxwell Hairston is facing some troubling allegations in a lawsuit that a woman recently filed against him.
According to court documents that were obtained by TMZ, a woman filed a civil lawsuit against Hairston on Tuesday in the U.S. Eastern District Court of Kentucky over an incident in which she claims he assaulted her. The lawsuit states that Hairston engaged in non-consensual sex with the woman at a University of Kentucky dorm room in 2021.
The woman reported the alleged incident to police and then transferred from Kentucky, the lawsuit states. The woman says she had gone back to Hairston’s dorm room with him but left after he tried “to isolate her in his bedroom.”
The woman says Hairston reached out to her after the initial interaction and tried to meet up with her again, but she declined. Then in March 2021, she says Hairston came to her dorm room and entered without permission, telling her he was “high as f–” and was “trying to have sex.”
The accuser says she told Hairston she was not interested, but he removed her shorts and proceeded to have sex with her anyway.
Hairston was drafted by the Bills with the 30th overall pick in April. It was known at the time that Hairston had faced allegations related to the aforementioned incident, but Bills general manager Brandon Beane said the team “fully investigated” the claims and that Hairston is “a heck of a young man.”
Hairston had 6 interceptions in his three seasons at Kentucky. He was named Second-Team All-SEC in 2023 and 2024.
