Bills player hit with hefty fine for confronting referee
Buffalo Bills defensive lineman Jerry Hughes will be a lot lighter in the pocketbook over his confrontation with a referee last week.
Hughes was hit with a fine of upwards of $53,000 for confronting referee Roy Ellison, who has subsequently been placed on administrative leave by the league.

Hughes ran off the field to confront Ellison after last week’s game, claiming that the referee referred to him as a “b—-.” Regardless of the veracity of these claims, it’s clear the NFL isn’t taking this one lightly, with both the player and the referee involved taking repercussions.
