The Patriots weren’t able to save Brandon LaFell, but maybe their one of their AFC rivals will.
LaFell’s agent Neil Schwartz announced on Wednesday that his client has agreed to a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals, per Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports. The terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed.

LaFell, 29, had a stellar season with the Patriots in 2014 with 953 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. But injuries and struggles with drops limited his effectiveness in 2015, and he was released by New England earlier this month.
The Bengals were in the market for receiving depth behind A.J. Green after Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu bolted in free agency this offseason, and hopefully LaFell fits the billing for them.
A strong pass-blocker with the ability to operate out of the slot or by the sideline, if LaFell is fully healthy, he could be primed for a resurgence in Marvin Lewis’ offense in 2016.
