Brandon Marshall: I own Bill Belichick
Slowing down Brandon Marshall is always a challenge for opposing coaches, and Bill Belichick is well aware of the veteran receiver’s abilities. That doesn’t mean the Patriots coach is capable of stopping him, at least according to Marshall.
In a Q&A with his Twitter followers Tuesday night, Marshall was asked if Belichick haunts his dreams. Turns out it’s quite the opposite, in fact.

That seems a bit strong, and Marshall was likely joking. However, the 31-year-old has found success against Belichick’s defenses. As Henry McKenna of Boston.com notes, Marshall averages 87.4 yards per game every time he faces the Patriots. In New England’s first meeting with the Jets last season, Marshall caught four passes for 64 yards. The second time the teams faced (a thrilling OT win for New York), Marshall went off for eight catches, 115 yards and two scores. You can’t blame him if that game is fresh on his mind.
Between Marshall’s comment and what DeAngelo Williams said about Belichick earlier this week, The Hoodie’s bulletin board for 2016 is already off to a fantastic start.
