Broncos fire head coach Vance Joseph
Vance Joseph was one of many coaches on the hot seat as the regular season came to a close, and the Denver Broncos have decided to part ways with him.
Joseph met with Broncos president of football operations John Elway on Monday and was informed the team will not be bringing him back in 2019. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network expects Joseph to have no trouble landing a defensive coordinator job this offseason.
#Broncos GM John Elway just finished meeting with coach Vance Joseph, informing him he’s done. Joseph should land as a top defensive coordinator candidate.

You could make the argument that Joseph was not given a fair shot in Denver, as the team team’s biggest issue has still been its inability to find a quarterback in the draft or free agency. Joseph’s 11-21 record obviously fell short of the championship expectations that have been built with the Broncos, but Elway has missed on multiple QBs in the draft and Case Keenum is clearly not the answer.
We have heard some rumblings about one high-profile candidate replacing Joseph, but that seems unlikely to happen. Because of the history with the franchise and a defense that still has the pieces in place to be one of the better units in the league, Denver’s job should be one of the more appealing ones.
