It’s the end of an era for the Cleveland Browns on Monday.

A day after closing out the 2025 NFL regular season with a 20-18 win against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Browns decided to fire two-time NFL Coach of the Year winner Kevin Stefanski.

The Browns announced Stefanski’s firing via the team’s official website, accompanied by a message from Managing and Principal Partners Dee and Jimmy Haslam.

“We have tremendous gratitude for Kevin’s leadership of the Cleveland Browns over the last six seasons,” read the statement from the Haslams.

“He is a good football coach and an even better person. We appreciate all his hard work and dedication to our organization but our results over the last two seasons have not been satisfactory, and we believe a change at the head coaching position is necessary. We wish Kevin, Michelle and the Stefanski family all the best in the future.”

While the Browns are moving on from Stefanski, they will continue to have the services of general manager Andrew Berry.

Stefanski and Berry worked hand in hand since both joined the Browns in 2020, but the latter is apparently safe from the chopping block following another losing Cleveland season.

Under Stefanski, the Browns clinched a playoff spot twice and won a postseason game. But after going 11–3 in 2023, the team slipped back into losing ways, winning just eight games over the next two seasons while losing 26.

In the 101 Browns regular-season games that he coached, Stefanski went 45-56.
