The Cleveland Browns have removed their sideline reporter from the team’s radio broadcast this week — and for seven more games — for a very unique reason.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com, Browns sideline reporter Nathan Zegura has been punished because he argued with an official over a call during the team’s loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Sources told Cabot that Zegura was asked to move after confronting an official over a call he didn’t like.
Obviously, it’s very improper for a media member to start confronting officials on the sidelines if he doesn’t like calls, and the Browns are doing the right thing here. If it’s any consolation, he didn’t get into an altercation with any of his fellow broadcasters, so there’s that.
