Chicago Bears halted beer sales because too much was being sold
The Chicago Bears decided to temporarily halt the sale of beer at Soldier Field on Sunday because too much was being consumed during weather delays.
There were tornado warnings for Cook County, so the game between the Bears and Baltimore Ravens was delayed. During the delay, fans were ushered into the concourse and apparently began drinking up. Amy Jacobson of the Big John Howell and Amy Jacobson Morning Show on AM 560 WIND Chicago reported that concessions were closed because the fans were drinking too much beer:

Was just told by Soldier Field employee that concessions were stopped because TOO MUCH beer was being sold.

Fans were just huddled in under shelter with nowhere to go and nothing to do, so you could understand why they hit up the concessions pretty hard. Here’s a look at the scene:

Keep in mind this is the same fan base that drank the whole city of Nashville dry last year during a trip to watch the Bears beat the Tennessee Titans, so this halting of beer sales should come as no surprise.
