Chiefs make incredible special teams play to beat Broncos

The Chiefs block a field goal

The Kansas City Chiefs kept their undefeated season alive on Sunday with one of the biggest special teams plays of the year.

Rookie quarterback Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos put together a clutch drive late in the fourth at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., to set up what should have been a relatively easy game-winning field goal. The Broncos were trailing 16-14 when they converted a clutch first down deep in Chiefs territory with under two minutes remaining. Kansas City had no timeouts remaining, which allowed the Broncos to run the clock all the way down to 1 second before attempting a 35-yard field goal.

The Chiefs then blocked Will Lutz’s field goal attempt to walk off with the victory:

Kansas City improved to 9-0 with the win. They are the only undefeated team remaining in the NFL, and they continue to find different ways to protect their perfect record.

The Chiefs won a thrilling overtime game last week, though some would say they got a huge assist from the opposing head coach.
