The Kansas City Chiefs have some extra cap space after trading Tyreek Hill, and they may be looking to use it to bolster the defensive side of the ball.
The Chiefs are interested in top cornerbacks such as Stephon Gilmore, according to Boardroom’s Jordan Schultz. New York Giants cornerback James Bradberry is also named as a potential trade candidate.
The Chiefs have looked vulnerable defensively at times, particularly in the secondary. Add in the fact that Tyrann Mathieu is a free agent and it is sensible for them to be looking at upgrades there. That may not be as flashy as a big addition on offense, particularly after the Hill trade, but it could prove more beneficial.

Though it may not be a perfect replacement, the Chiefs have already worked to fill the gap being left behind by Hill. That leaves them to focus on other positions.
