Rams’ Chris Long wears disguise, makes local news as Powerball hopeful
Rams defensive end Chris Long achieved a major accomplishment on Wednesday, and it had nothing to do with his professional football career.
Long, who played high school ball in Charlottesville, Va. and attended Virginia for college, made the local news as a “hopeful Powerball player.” He wore a disguise and was interviewed by NBC 29 in Charlottesville’s Cat Boardman at a convenience store where he talked about his plans for what he would do with the money if he won the jackpot:
I would say @JOEL9ONE is #winning with his #Powerball appearance on @NBC29. Hope the "old lady" gets her timeshare! pic.twitter.com/gv9RBe1IUm

“I already told my old lady if we win, we’re going down to Myrtle Beach for about 10 months and we’re getting a timeshare, the whole nine yards. Maybe a big boat, a couple boats, a lot of boats. We’re going to have a great time,” Long said.
Long, wearing a Levi Garrett Racing cap, sunglasses, mustache and sideburns, said on Twitter he tried to use an alias “Rod Carriker” for the interview.
For the record my name was Rod Carriker so Chris long may be a type O

Even if Boardman didn’t use the fake name, Long was still pretty proud.

Unfortunately he didn’t win, but Long still signed a $60.3 million contract in 2012 with $36.76 million guaranteed, so something tells us he’ll be alright financially despite not hitting the Powerball jackpot. And between this and some of his other great tweets, Long remains one of the funniest athletes on Twitter.
