Christian Fauria apologizes for mocking Don Yee, says he deserves suspension
Former New England Patriots tight end Christian Fauria has apologized for comments he made about Tom Brady’s agent on Friday, and he says he deserves the disciplinary action his employer took against him as a result.
During the most recent edition of “Ordway, Merloni & Fauria” on WEEI, Fauria got into some hot water for a racist segment in which he imitated Brady’s agent, Don Yee, while reenacting the prank that led to a Boston Herald reporter publishing a fake story about Brady threatening to hold out. Fauria, who was once teammates with Brady, has since apologized and called his racist Asian impersonation a “horrible attempt at humor.”
Earlier today I made a horrible attempt at humor. In a segment during the show, I impersonated agent Don Yee in an insensitive and regrettable way. I want to publicly apologize to Don and anyone in the audience who heard it.

I have also reached out to Don directly to personally apologize. I have been disciplined by WEEI management and I fully support their decision.

WEEI shares some responsibility for how much exposure Fauria’s poor joke got, as the station originally promoted the audio on its Twitter account before later pulling it. You can still hear the clip at Deadspin.
Between his agent being mocked and the disparaging remarks that were recently made about his daughter by a WEEI employee, it would not be a surprise if Brady decides to not make his regular appearance with the network next season.
