Clemson congratulates Hunter Renfrow on being drafted with funny tweet
Clemson Tigers wide receiver and championship hero Hunter Renfrow is headed to the NFL after the Oakland Raiders elected him in the fifth round of the draft on Saturday.
Clemson’s Twitter account congratulated Renfrow on the achievement, while making a joke about the perception that the wide receiver was a member of the Tigers for what seemed like forever.
Congratulations to this guy on an incredible 17-year college career. pic.twitter.com/ydr2g6xWFV

Renfrow was a highly visible regular from his freshman season in 2015, appearing in the College Football Playoff in all four of his seasons while reaching the title game in three. It felt like, to many college football fans, Renfrow had been around forever.
The receiver overcame a perpetual size disadvantage — one he’s joked about — and became a huge part of the best four-year period in Clemson football history. Now he’ll try to do the same in the NFL.
