Cole Beasley given permission to seek trade from Bills

Cole Beasley catches a pass in warmups

Cole Beasley has been a significant part of the Buffalo Bills’ offense for the last several seasons, but the veteran wide receiver would like a change of scenery.

The Bills have granted Beasley and his representatives permission to seek a trade, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. General manager Brandon Beane said the team would still welcome Beasley back in 2022 if nothing can be worked out.

It’s unclear why Beasley wants a trade, but Garafolo speculates that it could have something to do with the COVID-related issues Beasley has had. The 32-year-old has been outspoken with his opposition to COVID-19 vaccines. He was fined a huge amount this past season for violating COVID protocols, and he blasted the NFL at one point when he was ruled ineligible to play.

Beasley had 82 catches in 2021, which tied the career high he set the year before. He’s set to earn around $6 million next season.
