Colin Kaepernick jersey sales go up after anthem protest

Colin Kaepernick seems to have his fair share of supporters over his national anthem protests.
As of Friday, Kaepernick’s jersey had risen to become the third most popular jersey in the 49ers’ online store. As of Saturday afternoon, however, it had risen further to become the top-selling jersey overall in the team shop, ahead of the likes of Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, NaVorro Bowman, and the customizable jerseys.

In addition to the traditional men’s home jersey that topped the sales charts, the road white Kaepernick jersey was sixth most popular, while the women’s jersey was eighth.
Kaepernick has come a long way since December when the Niners were trying to ship his jerseys out the door. Yes, he has received a boatload of criticism for his recent protests against police brutality against minorities. However, as we’ve seen, he has plenty of support out there, too. The fact that his jersey is suddenly racking up sales despite no real change in his status as a football player is all the evidence you need of that.
