Colin Kaepernick to start for 49ers in Week 14
Colin Kaepernick was benched last weekend during an abysmal performance against the Chicago Bears, but he is not losing his job permanently.
On Tuesday, San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Curtis Modkins told reporters that Kaepernick will remain the team’s starting quarterback in Week 14.

Sunday’s loss to the lowly Bears was certainly disappointing. After he strung together four solid games in a row that included quarterback ratings of 89.6 and higher, Kaepernick completed just 1-of-5 passes for four yards before being benched in Chicago. But Blaine Gabbert was no better, completing 4-of-10 passes for a whopping 18 yards.
Kaepernick needs to play well down the stretch, especially given the recent news we heard about his contract situation. Fortunately for him, a home game against the New York Jets could be just what the doctor ordered.
