Dallas Cowboys longtime star offensive lineman has made a big decision regarding his future.
Zack Martin has informed the Cowboys he plans to retire, according to a report from NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero.

Martin was a first-round pick (No. 16 overall) in the 2014 draft by the Cowboys. He played 11 seasons with the team and was a 7-time first-team All-Pro selection at the right guard position.
Savvy fans may recall that there was chatter about the Cowboys considering drafting Johnny Manziel with the No. 16 pick that year, but team owner Jerry Jones was restrained, and the front office instead took Martin. They really hit a home run on the pick, as Martin is likely to become a Hall of Fame player.
Martin was durable for most of his career and played in 162 games over his 11 seasons. But he played in just 10 games last season and was limited by an ankle injury. Around the time he suffered his ankle injury, a report said that Martin was considering retirement after the season. His ultimate decision to step away is not a surprise.
Martin also held out from camp in 2023 due to his contract situation.
The Cowboys will now be tasked with figuring out a replacement at right guard. They could go with TJ Bass at the position.
