Deebo Samuel goes after 49ers long snapper after missed field goal
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel completely lost his cool on the sideline during Sunday’s game and took aim at his team’s struggling special teams unit.
After the 49ers missed their third field goal try of the day, Samuel went after long snapper Taybor Pepper and kicker Jake Moody on the sideline at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fl. Samuel put his hand to Pepper’s neck and then struck Moody in the helmet, though the latter appeared to be inadvertent after Pepper tried to move Samuel’s arm away.

Moody had missed kicks of 49, 50, and 44 yards during the game. This incident came after the third miss, which seemingly set Samuel off. Remarkably, Moody went on to make a 44-yard game winner as time expired to win the game for the 49ers, which presumably was more than enough to placate Samuel.
One can certainly understand why Samuel was frustrated. At the time, it looked like the misses could cost San Francisco the game, and this is not the first time he has struggled. Despite that, the Niners are not likely to be happy with the fact that Samuel turned his frustration into a physical altercation.
San Francisco moved to 5-4 with their win on Sunday, and their NFC West hopes remain very much alive.
