Demaryius Thomas’ mom Katina Smith finally watches him
Demaryius Thomas’ mom Katina Smith finally got a chance to watch her son play in a football game in person.
Thomas’ mother was sentenced to 24 years in prison on drug trafficking charges after she turned down a plea deal back in 2000. Her sentence was eventually commuted by President Obama. Now that she’s out, she finally has a chance to watch her son play in a game.
Smith was in the house in Denver to watch the AFC playoff game between the Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers. She even had a customized jersey featuring “Bay Bay,” which is Demaryius’ nickname, on the nameplate on the back.

Demaryius was 12 when his mom went to prison, so she missed all of his games and his successful NFL development.
