Deshaun Watson showed Houston Texans fans that the future is bright when he took the NFL by storm early in the season, but an unfortunate knee injury left us all wondering what could have been. On Monday, Watson shared yet another positive update about his rehab from a torn ACL.
Just three months after he suffered the knee injury in practice, Watson is already back to running.
Officially day 1 of the 2018 NFL season today.. and today is officially my first day back running! Crazy how God works! Gotta have it ALL! memo™️ 815 #Godspeed pic.twitter.com/so9u3InvnW

That’s a great sign and should be a good indication that Watson will be ready for the start of the 2018 season. His initial timeline for recovery was eight to nine months, but Watson has said he’s ahead of schedule. The former Clemson star tore his left ACL while in college and returned from that injury in just five months.
Watson posted a quarterback rating of 103.0 and threw 19 touchdown passes compared to eight interceptions in seven games with the Texans. He broke Dan Marino’s record for most touchdown passes in a month by a rookie when he threw 16 in the month of October alone. If Watson can stay healthy for a full season, there’s no reason the Texans won’t be a playoff team in the AFC.
