DK went completely MIA during Week 2.
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf had a rough day at the office against the New England Patriots on Sunday. Metcalf struggled to get anything going at Gillette Stadium on Foxborough, Mass. thanks to some spectacular one-on-one coverage by Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez.
The two-time Pro Bowler Metcalf also had himself to blame as he produced some ugly self-inflicted errors. Metcalf had multiple bad drops down the stretch of the game, including some in which he was wide-open.

The hideous showing by Metcalf on Sunday led to the memes flying over social media. Here were some of the more cruel ones at his expense on X.

Metcalf, still only 28 years old, is now in his second season with the Steelers. After logging a modest 59 receptions for 850 yards and six touchdowns last year, the early returns on Metcalf in 2026 are not looking so good.
Granted, Sunday was a frustrating day overall for the Pittsburgh offense. Most notably, Metcalf’s quarterback Aaron Rodgers got absolutely shredded at one point on a brutal hit by the New England pass rush.
