Eagles no Super Bowls

New York Giants defensive backs Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Prince Amukamara caused a stir this week by posing with a fan who has a customized jersey mocking the Eagles for not winning a Super Bowl.

Though the photo is for a fan and seems harmless, the two DBs joined the fun by making a “zero” sign with their hands. The photo made its way to the Eagles, who were asked about it on Wednesday ahead of Sunday night’s game between the teams.

LeSean McCoy on DRC/Prince/LPG pic: "I'm trying to think, did Prince win a Super Bowl? I know DRC didn't. … I don't know what to say."

Rodgers-Cromartie, who used to play with the Eagles, went into damage control after the photo made the rounds.

DRC on LPG-PIC Gate: "We were just two guys taking a picture. We didn't think nothing of it. Definitely nothing to be disrespectful." #NYG

Could DRC see why Eagles might be upset with photo? "Not coming from my standpoint, because I ain't got no Super Bowls, either." #NYG

DRC says he got a few texts from former Eagles teammates about the photo + @LicensePlateGuy's 0 Eagles Super Bowl jersey.

DRC even apologized over Twitter:

I meant nothing by the photo, I was just doing what a fan asked me to do, truly didn't mean any disrespect at all

Amukamara even said he heard from Giants coach Tom Coughlin about the picture:

Prince Amukamara says he heard from Tom Coughlin about the Eagles 0 Super Bowl jersey photo. #asexpected

I bet those guys never thought one photo taken with a fan at a memorabilia store would end up becoming a viral story. It’s because of stories like this that some guys feel very uncomfortable ever taking photos with fans; you never know what can happen was a result.
