Donald Trump on Friday sent a message to NFL teams about Shedeur Sanders.

Sanders went undrafted on Thursday, which is when the first round of the draft took place in Green Bay, Wisc. Deion Sanders, who is Shedeur’s famous father and his college coach, was adamant leading up to the draft that his son and Travis Hunter were the two surest bets. NFL teams proved that they disagreed. But Trump is standing by the Sanders family and sent a message encouraging teams to select the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback.

Trump shared his message on his Truth Social social media application.

“What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID? Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was even greater in the NFL. He’s also a very good coach, streetwise and smart! Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness. He should be ‘picked’ IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!” Trump posted on his app.

Trump really seemed to be sucking up to Deion as much as he was backing Shedeur, but the point still stands — Trump was supporting the Sanders family ahead of the second day of the draft.

Day 2 of the draft didn’t go much better for Shedeur. The New Orleans Saints chose Tyler Shough with the No. 40 overall pick. He was the only quarterback to go in the second round.

How many people saw Shedeur going undrafted through the first two rounds? Not many, and not even some berating from Trump could change that.
