Deion Sanders has his players’ backs better than almost any coach. That’s certainly the case for him with Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders.
Colorado held a showcase event on Friday where their players could show NFL scouts what they can do. Neither Hunter nor Shedeur did testing, though Hunter ran some routes. Deion, who is Shedeur’s father and has coached both players since their time at Jackson State, believes both players are locks to succeed in the NFL.
“I think we have the most qualified guys in the draft. They’re not a risk. Shedeur’s been doing it year after year after year after year. Ain’t nobody like Travis. So the surest bets in this draft — I’m not a betting man, I’m a Godly man — but the surest bets in this draft are those two young men,” Deion said.

There are some other good players in the draft too. Abdul Carter and Will Campbell are other players expected to go highly in the draft, and Deion believes Shedeur and Travis Hunter are more of sure bets than them. Those are some bold comments. Sanders could have easily backed his guys without also describing them as such, but he believes they will do well at the next level.
The draft is set to take place April 24-26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisc. We’ll know then where both players will end up. Shedeur has already been linked to one team multiple times.
