Drew Bledsoe tells Colts fans to stop trolling his winemaker, Josh McDaniels

Drew Bledsoe is one of a small percentage of professional athletes who have gone on to enjoy great success in an entirely new career after his playing days ended, and he owes a lot of that success to Josh McDaniels. No, not that Josh McDaniels.

Bledsoe owns and operates a winery called Doubleback in Walla Walla, Wash., and his winemaker and general manager is a gentleman who happens to be named Josh McDaniels. While giving Lis Gonzales of Barstool Sports a tour of his facility this week, Bledsoe stopped near a photo of McDaniels the winemaker and pleaded with fans to stop trolling him.

“This is the real Josh McDaniels, world renowned winemaker, not football coach,” Bledsoe said. “For all of you Twitter trolls out there, leave this guy alone. He’s not the one that didn’t take the Colts job. He’s just making world class wine. That’s all he’s doing.”

Here’s the full interview, with the McDaniels backstory coming at around the 50-second mark:

The other McDaniels, of course, is the offensive coordinator for the Patriots. He’s the guy who verbally agreed to take the Colts head coaching job this offseason and then backed out at the last second, which led to a lot of fan backlash and this phenomenal quote from Indy’s GM.

There’s more than one person in the world named Josh McDaniels, guys. One of them may deserve to be yelled at. The other is just trying to pump out award-winning wine.
