Drew Rosenhaus critical of NFL over leak of Josh Gordon failed test

Drew Rosenhaus ripped the NFL over the fact that news of Josh Gordon’s failed drug test went public.

Rosenhaus appeared on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Wednesday and criticized the league for leaking the test and noted that he is filing a grievance against the league over it.

“Josh and I are very disappointed in the league. This is confidential information,” Rosenhaus said, via ESPN. “This is a test result that would be underneath the limit to be considered a positive test. This is not information that is supposed to be disseminated publicly. This is not information that is supposed to be available. It shouldn’t be in the news, it’s completely confidential.”

Gordon was denied reinstatement, but he can apply again on August 1.

“Josh has been working very hard over the past year to get himself back into the NFL,” Rosenhaus said. “Obviously there’s been a hiccup here. He acknowledges that, but he’ll have another opportunity before the season to show the NFL that he’s got his life in order and that he’s ready to resume his NFL career without any setbacks, and I’m very hopeful that he will.”

Rosenhaus has stuck with Gordon despite the repeated issues, though the same cannot be said for Rosenhaus’s relationship with Gordon’s friend and now-former teammate.
