Report: Josh Gordon denied NFL reinstatement
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been denied reinstatement by the NFL.
Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports that Gordon’s indefinite ban has not been lifted, and the 24-year-old can try to apply for reinstatement again later in the year.
The news should surprise no one, especially in the wake of a report on Monday claiming Gordon failed yet another NFL-administered drug test last month. He is said to have tested positive for marijuana and dilute. You can read more details about that here.
It’s unclear if Gordon would have been reinstated if not for the failed test in March. He applied for reinstatement in February, so the timing likely didn’t help him. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Gordon still has a chance of being allowed back into the league during the 2016 season if he proves he can stay clean for an extended period of time.
