Washington Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins is closing out his rookie season with a pretty nasty injury.
Haskins has a high ankle sprain, according to the initial diagnosis, and will undergo more tests on Monday. The quarterback wants to play in Washington’s final game of the season, but it is unclear if that will even be possible.
#Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins suffered a high-ankle sprain based on initial analysis, sources say, but he’ll get an MRI and other tests today be sure. He wants to play in the finale, but no indication yet on if he’ll be able to. He was 12 of 15 for 133 yards with 2 TDs pre-injury.

Haskins’ desire to play isn’t surprising, as he tried to come back and play in the second half of Sunday’s game despite the injury. Washington has little incentive to push him, though, as they have nothing to play for and will want to protect their young quarterback. Plus, they clinch the second pick in the NFL Draft with a loss at Dallas.
In his rookie season, Haskins went 2-5 as a starter, throwing seven touchdowns and seven interceptions in nine total games.
