Report: Eagles tell Nick Foles they will pick up his option
The Philadelphia Eagles have told Nick Foles they will pick up his option for the 2019 season, according to a report.
ESPN’s Tim McManus shared on Tuesday the news about the Eagles telling Foles about their plans.

Foles has a $20 million option for 2019. According to Spotrac, the Eagles have one week after the Super Bowl to exercise the contract option for 2019. Foles then has five days after the option is exercised to buy his way out of it for $2 million.
If Foles buys out his option — which he likely will do — he can become a free agent and sign elsewhere.
There was some talk that the Eagles would franchise tag Foles and try to trade him, but the franchise tag for quarterbacks is expensive, making that plan seem risky. Even if he buys out his option, the Eagles would still be able to franchise tag Foles and attempt to trade him.
