Eddie Lacy unsure of status for Week 6 against Cowboys

Eddie Lacy

Not even Eddie Lacy knows if Eddie Lacy will suit up for the Green Bay Packers’ Week 6 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.

The ex-Pro Bowl running back, who is dealing with a left ankle injury, said on Thursday that he’s unsure of his status for Sunday’s showdown at Lambeau Field, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

Lacy had to leave in the third quarter of last Sunday’s 23-16 victory over the New York Giants after his ankle was hurt on a low hit.

The Packers appear to want more carries for the 26-year-old, but he’s still under 300 rushing yards for the season and has yet to find the end zone in 2016. If Lacy’s ready to go against the Cowboys however, this could be his chance to really assert himself with backup James Starks looking unlikely to play after missing practice on Wednesday with a knee issue, then being excused from all team activities until Saturday due to a death in the family. The Cowboys defense has given up 95.0 rushing yards per game so far this year (per ESPN), so it’s a decent matchup as well, health permitting for Lacy.
