Eli Manning has no problem with Ben McAdoo’s criticism
Eli Manning was heavily criticized by his head coach following the New York Giants’ dud on Monday night at home against the Detroit Lions. While that sort of criticism could create friction between a coach and QB, Manning accepted it in stride.
Asked about Ben McAdoo calling him out specifically for a delay of game penalty, Manning said he had no problem with the coach’s words. He also said players need to be able to accept criticism in order to last in the league.

Here’s what McAdoo said after the Giants-Lions game on Monday:

McAdoo is right — and he should expect that much from his veteran QB. When you read a quote like that, it helps explain how Manning has survived — and thrived — in such a difficult market like New York for his entire career.
Manning has also urged calm over the Giants’ slow start. He’s going to have to improve soon because the Giants’ start to the season isn’t inspiring confidence.
