New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw six interceptions in a Week 3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, and it won’t get any easier now that one of his favorite targets is out of the lineup.
Jets head coach Todd Bowles announced on Friday that wide receiver Eric Decker has a partially torn rotator cuff and is out for Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks, per Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. Bowles also added that Decker’s status from here on out is “week-to-week.”

Decker, 29, had caught nine passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns in the Jets’ first three games. He apparently aggravated a shoulder injury in that loss to Kansas City however, and the team’s concern about the issue ultimately wound up being justified.
The Jets will have to look elsewhere for red zone production in Decker’s absence and will presumably lean even more heavily on Pro Bowl wideout Brandon Marshall. Quincy Enunwa and rookies Charone Peake and Robby Anderson could be in line for increased workloads as well.
