ESPN on Tuesday provided a positive update on the health of NFL analyst Randy Moss after his battle with bile duct cancer last year.

In a statement to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, ESPN said Moss is expected to return to a full-time role on “Sunday NFL Countdown” this fall.

“Randy’s return on Super Bowl Sunday was an emotional lift — not just for our team but for the entire football community — and knowing he will resume his full Sunday NFL Countdown schedule, beginning in Week 1, has been the highlight of the offseason,” ESPN said in the statement.

Moss took a leave of absence from ESPN last December after being diagnosed with bile duct cancer. He underwent surgery and missed almost all of the remainder of the NFL season, though he eventually made a tearful return to the air for Super Bowl Sunday.

Moss has become an integral part of ESPN’s flagship NFL pregame show. The 2025 season will mark his 10th with the network. He is also an NFL legend in his own right, and many in the sport rallied around him following his diagnosis.
