Everson Griffen likely of interest to Browns?
Everson Griffen remains a capable defensive lineman at age 32 and is on the market after leaving the Minnesota Vikings. One team appears to make some sense as a possible destination.
Griffen “has to” be on the Cleveland Browns’ radar, BrownsZone’s Scott Petrak believes. Griffen worked under Browns coach Kevin Stefanski and defensive coordinator Joe Woods in Minnesota. Griffen would be a relatively affordable option to go along with Myles Garrett on the defensive line.
Adding Griffen would also allow the Browns to cut Olivier Vernon and save $5 million.
Griffen had eight sacks last season before saying an emotional goodbye to Minnesota. He could provide fairly good value for a team like the Browns, who have already done a good bit to improve this offseason, though Griffen could present a bit of a risk.
