Report: Frank Gore could be cleared by playoffs, wants to play in 2019
Frank Gore will see his incredible streak of 122 consecutive games come to an end when the Miami Dolphins host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, but the long-term prognosis from his ankle injury sounds quite promising.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that doctors determined this week that Gore will not need to undergo ankle surgery. The Dolphins are currently 7-7, and Gore is expected to be fully healed in a few weeks, meaning he would be available in the playoffs if they’re able to qualify. Not only that, but Gore intends to continue playing in 2019.
Doctors determined that Dolphins’ RB Frank Gore does not need foot surgery, he is expected to recover in a few weeks, and Gore wants to return next season for his 15th NFL year, per source.

While most running backs show serious signs of decline after they turn 30, Gore has continued to produce consistently. He has rushed for 722 yards on 156 carries this season, and his 4.6 yards per carry are his highest mark since 2012. Considering he is 35, that is a remarkable feat.
If Gore wants to play in 2019, it would be unwise to doubt him.
