Garrett Wilson has gotten off to a slow start this season, and he may see even fewer opportunities if the New York Jets acquire Davante Adams in a trade. The star wide receiver insists he is all for it, however.

Adams informed the Las Vegas Raiders this week that he wants to be traded. Because of the Pro Bowl wideout’s history with Aaron Rodgers, many believe that Adams is inevitably going to land in New York.

Wilson, who is currently New York’s No. 1 receiver, was asked on Friday about the possibility of Adams becoming his teammate. He said he is in favor of anything that helps the Jets win.

“That’d be cool, man. I feel like it’s cool, you know, if we can get him over here,” Wilson said. “Like I always say, if someone can help us win, let’s do it. So, right on.”

Wilson had over 1,000 yards receiving in each of his first two NFL seasons. He was a breakout candidate this year with Rodgers under center, but things have not gone the way he or the Jets hoped through four games. Wilson has just 20 catches for 191 yards and a touchdown thus far.

If the Jets do find a way to acquire Adams, there is a chance that will open things up more for Wilson. Rodgers has said opposing defenses are doing everything they can to take Wilson away. Adams would command a lot of attention, so that could actually benefit Wilson.

This is not the first time Wilson has been asked about the possibility of the Jets adding Adams, and his stance has remained consistent.
